| Event: | Manure Maven Training Workshop |
| Description: |
LEPS(Langley Environmental Partnership Society) educates and provides technical assistance to equestrian landowners and small-lot farmers throughout the Province through the Manure Maiden program, offering manure composting and pasture management workshops as well as site consultations for individual land owners. The program has generated a huge response and was expanded to serve all of BC in 2007. We are now looking to create a network of Manure Maven facilitators throughout the main regions in BC: Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, Thompson Okanagan, Kootenay Rockies, Peace River, Northwest Coast, and the Cariboo Chilcotin. We are looking for interested participants who are willing to act as a resource in their respective regions and potentially conduct workshops and site consultations on their own time, to be part of a Manure Maven network. There is a small financial incentive as you are free to charge for your workshops, site consultations, and Land Management Guides. You'll learn from the experts in an interactive, hands-on format how producers and processors are adopting the value chain strategy for better profitability. Day 2 Workshop : VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT PLANNING Building on the day 1 workshop, you will develop a deeper understanding of the value chain process and how it can pay off for you or your business. There will be hands-on practice of using the strategies, concepts and tools indentified in day 1.
