| Event: | Manure Maven Training Workshop |
| Description: |
LEPS(Langley Environmental Partnership Society) educates and provides technical assistance to equestrian landowners and small-lot farmers throughout the Province through the Manure Maiden program, offering manure composting and pasture management workshops as well as site consultations for individual land owners. The program has generated a huge response and was expanded to serve all of BC in 2007. We are now looking to create a network of Manure Maven facilitators throughout the main regions in BC: Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, Thompson Okanagan, Kootenay Rockies, Peace River, Northwest Coast, and the Cariboo Chilcotin. We are looking for interested participants who are willing to act as a resource in their respective regions and potentially conduct workshops and site consultations on their own time, to be part of a Manure Maven network. There is a small financial incentive as you are free to charge for your workshops, site consultations, and Land Management Guides. Learn tips and techniques on choosing footings for paddocks, getting gutters and downspouts in working order, chemical-free ways to control pesky rodents, ideas to keep water supplies from freezing – and more! Also hear about manure management techniques and ways to reduce stall waste. Preregistration is required as seats are limited. |
